Model Interpretation:
3: Represents a pump body diameter of approximately 3 inches (approximately 76mm), suitable for small-diameter deep wells.
L: Vertical/Centrifugal.
II: Represents the second-generation structure or two-stage structure.
Iron: Cast iron – Core material identification.
Core Form: Multi-stage centrifugal submersible pump.
Core Difference: Cast iron casing + plastic impeller + stainless steel diffuser. This is the biggest difference from all-metal pumps.
Core Working Principle: Multi-stage centrifugal + plastic impeller pressurization.
The working logic of the 3LII Iron series is "low cost, high efficiency":
Core Structure: The motor drives the plastic impeller to rotate, and the water flow is pressurized step by step through the diffuser under the action of centrifugal force.
Lightweight Advantage: The plastic impeller is extremely lightweight and has a small moment of inertia, so it requires very low starting power from the solar panel. In the morning when the sunlight is weak, it is often easier to start than high-power metal pumps.
Use of Cast Iron: The pump body casing is made of cast iron, which is far less expensive than stainless steel, but has high mechanical strength and can effectively protect the internal motor.
Core Features: Excellent cost-effectiveness, corrosion resistance, low-voltage startup.
Feature Detailed Description
Ultra-high Cost-Effectiveness Core advantage. Using a cast iron pump body and plastic impeller significantly reduces manufacturing costs. It is the lowest-cost and most economical option for accessing deep well water, ideal for small farmers with extremely limited budgets.
Never Rusts (Flow Path) Although the casing is cast iron, the flow-through components (impeller, diffuser) are usually made of engineering plastic or stainless steel and will not rust at all. Even in water containing salt or chemicals, the flow path remains bright and new.
Low-Voltage Soft Start Highly adaptable to solar panel voltage fluctuations. Even in low light or low voltage conditions, it can still maintain operation or start smoothly, making full use of every ray of sunlight.
Moderate Weight Compared to all-stainless steel pumps, cast iron pumps are heavier, but lighter than large industrial all-metal pumps, making installation moderately difficult.
Typical Application Scenarios
The 3LII Iron series is ideal for home gardens, small farms, and livestock watering:
Shallow/Deep Well Water Extraction:
Suitable for deep wells with depths between 10 and 50 meters (depending on the model).
Home Garden Irrigation:
Used for automatic watering and sprinkler systems in villa gardens and balcony vegetable gardens.
Small Fish Pond/Water Tower Replenishment:
Used to pump water from a lower level to a rooftop water tank or fish pond for circulation.
Livestock Farming:
Used for automatic water trough replenishment in small farms.
Selection and Usage Recommendations
Strictly Prohibited for Pumping Sand (Crucial):
This is its biggest weakness. Although the plastic impeller is corrosion-resistant, it has low hardness and is not wear-resistant. If the well water contains sand, the sand particles will quickly wear down the plastic impeller, leading to a sharp decrease in flow rate and pressure, and a shortened lifespan.
Recommendation: Only use for clean water or slightly turbid water; absolutely not for pumping sand or mud.
Rust Prevention:
Since the casing is made of cast iron, the outside of the pump body may rust if exposed to humid air for a long time (such as during the rainy season or near the sea). It is recommended to apply anti-rust paint to the parts exposed above the water surface before installation.
Flow Rate and Head Limitations:
The 3LII Iron series usually has a relatively low power (e.g., 300W-750W), and its head and flow rate are limited. It is not suitable for deep wells of hundreds of meters or large-area agricultural irrigation.
The 3LII Iron series is the "economical special edition" of solar water pumps. It uses cast iron to achieve a low price, and plastic impellers for corrosion resistance and low starting voltage. If you only need to pump clean water and are very budget-conscious, or only need it for small-scale household water use, it is more cost-effective than expensive all-stainless steel pumps. But please remember, it is sensitive to sand and is only suitable for clean water environments.
