Model Interpretation:
LS: Usually represents "DC" (Direct Current) or "Miniature".
P: Plastic – refers to the impeller material.
I: Inbuilt or Intelligent.
Core Form: Miniature DC brushed centrifugal pump.
Core Difference: Brushed motor + plastic impeller. This is the biggest difference from the brushless series (such as LSQB).
Core Working Principle: Simple centrifugal + brushed motor drive
The working logic of the LSPI series is "simple, direct, and responsive to light":
Simple Structure: It does not have complex electronic commutation circuits, relying on carbon brushes and commutators to maintain motor rotation. A simple structure means fewer failure points (at low power) and extremely low cost.
Plastic Impeller Pressurization: The motor shaft is directly connected to the plastic impeller. The water flow is thrown out by the high-speed rotating impeller, generating centrifugal force for drainage.
Direct Drive Characteristics: Many LSPI models support direct drive from solar panels (no controller required). When the sunlight is strong, the pump rotates faster and the pressure is higher; when the sunlight is weak, the pump rotates slower or even stops. This characteristic is very suitable for simple fountain or watering applications.
Core Features: Low cost, compact size, corrosion resistance
Feature Detailed Description
Extremely High Cost-Effectiveness Core advantage. Due to the use of mature brushed motor technology and plastic materials, the manufacturing cost is very low. It is the lowest entry point into the field of solar water pumping.
Compact Size and Lightweight The entire unit is usually only the size of a palm and very lightweight, making installation very flexible; it can even be fixed with cable ties.
Never Rusts The pump body and impeller are usually made of engineering plastics (such as PPO, ABS), which are completely corrosion-resistant and suitable for pumping water containing trace amounts of chemicals or ordinary clean water.
Low Power Start-up Requires low starting current, and can be driven by small power solar panels (such as 5W-20W), which is very suitable for miniature applications.
Typical Application Scenarios
The LSPI series is ideal for miniature landscapes, home gardening, and micro-irrigation:
Solar Fountain/Landscape:
Used for small water features and fountains in courtyards and balconies, automatically adjusting the spray height according to the intensity of sunlight. Miniature Garden/Bonsai Watering:
Used for drip or spray irrigation systems for a few potted plants or small bonsai trees.
Aquarium/Pet Drinking Water:
Used for circulating filtration in small ornamental fish tanks, or for automatic pet water dispensers.
Simple Cleaning:
Used with a bucket and hose for simple car washing or tool cleaning.
Selection and Usage Recommendations
Lifespan Limitations (Critical):
Carbon Brush Wear: The biggest disadvantage of brushed motors is carbon brush wear. After several hundred to one thousand hours of continuous operation, the carbon brush wear gap increases, leading to increased noise and even failure to commutate and stop.
Recommendation: Only use for intermittent operation or non-critical applications. If 24-hour continuous operation is required for agricultural irrigation, be sure to choose a brushless series (such as LSQB).
Strictly Prohibited from Dry Running:
Brushed motors have relatively weak heat dissipation capabilities, and carbon brush friction generates heat. It is absolutely forbidden to run the motor without water, otherwise, the motor will burn out quickly.
Extremely Low Flow Rate:
This series typically has a very low flow rate (e.g., tens to hundreds of liters per hour), which cannot meet the needs of large-area irrigation or large-volume water supply.
The LSPI series is the "economical and practical small tool" among solar water pumps. It uses a brushed motor to achieve a low price and simple structure. If you only need a small fountain that sprays water when there is sunlight, or to water a few potted plants, and your budget is very limited, then the LSPI series is the best choice. However, if you pursue long lifespan and maintenance-free operation, please upgrade to the brushless motor series.
